ACT Attendance Travel Grant

The Community College Instructors ACT Attendance Travel Grant aims to help alleviate some of the financial burden of attending this year's STP’s in-person Annual Conference on Teaching (ACT) for instructors of psychology at community colleges.

Consistent with our Mission Statement and the Statement on Addressing Systemic Racism and Inequity in STP, we encourage applications from STP members who are from underrepresented groups and have diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Description and Size of Grant

The grant will total $1000 to assist with travel costs related to attending this year's ACT in-person conference. All reimbursable travel expenses must comply with STP's Travel Reimbursement Guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the grant, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current STP member (and maintain membership from application for the grant to receipt of the grant to submission of the final report).
  • Teach psychology at a community college.
  • Intend to travel to this year's ACT in-person conference.

All reimbursable travel expenses must comply with STP's Travel Reimbursement Guidelines.

Application Requirements

  • Basic demographic information.
  • Proposed travel budget.
  • Information about previous receipt of STP travel grants or STP conference attendance grants. (Priority will be given to applicants who have not recently received STP travel grants or STP conference attendance grants.)

Applications are due by June 15Recipients will be announced by July 15.

Post-Conference Reporting

Grant recipients must submit a brief report (e.g., 100-200 words) detailing how the funds supported their conference participation. The report is due at the time of your request for travel reimbursement.

We encourage all eligible STP members who teach at minority serving institutions to apply for this valuable opportunity.
